Kerry: U.S. Open to Talks With Iran Over Iraq

John Kerry Current PicWASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State John Kerry says the Obama administration is willing to talk with Iran over deteriorating security conditions in Iraq and is not ruling out potential U.S.-Iranian military cooperation in stemming the advance of Sunni extremists. Kerry also says U.S. drone strikes “may well” be an option.

In a Monday interview with Yahoo! News, Kerry said Washington is “open to discussions” with Tehran if the Iranians can help end the violence and restore confidence in the Iraqi government. Asked about possible military cooperation with Iran, Kerry said he would “not rule out anything that would be constructive.” However, he stressed that any contacts with Iran would move “step-by-step.”

U.S. officials said earlier there is a possibility that a senior American diplomat may discuss Iraq with an Iranian delegation at nuclear talks in Vienna. CNS News

I’m not a diplomat; I’m just not wired that way. I would start more fights than I settled, but diplomat or not, is working with Iran over a civil war in Iraq something we need to do? Is this something that would be beneficial for the United States?

It seems some folks believe so.

Sen. Graham: ‘We Need to Coordinate With the Iranians’ Over Iraq Crisis

Graham-080106-18270- 0035(CNSNews.com) – Less than a year after Sen. Lindsey Graham was advocating for a use-of-force authorization against Iran, the South Carolina Republican on Sunday suggested the U.S. sit down and talk to the Iranians about stopping the advance of Sunni jihadists in Iraq.

Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union, Graham conceded that the notion of coordinating with Iran did not make him feel comfortable, but he argued that “we have common interests.” CNS News

I have ONE QUESTION that I want answered, just ONE; has Sen. Lindsey Graham lost what little bit of mind he had?

Asked whether he was saying the U.S. should be working directly with Iran on dealing with the Iraq crisis, Graham replied, “We should have discussions with Iran to make sure that they don’t use this as an opportunity to seize – to seize control of parts of Iraq. They’re in this. They’re already on the ground.”

Somehow, I get the impression that Sen. Lindsey Graham is under the impression that Iran is going to honor its *word* on any discussions or *pacts* that they may enter into with the United States; they will NOT.

I was in conversation with my wonderful friend Alan Caruba earlier today and we were discussing the reliability of Muslims and Muslim fighters.

The conversation was partly prompted by my observation that the supposed massacres of Iraqi troops by the ISIS rebels was not something I had a lot of sympathy for, and I have to tell you why; these Iraqi troops were trained and armed, they were supposed to be fighters, they were charged with the defense of their nation.

Iraqi troops threw down their weapons, stripped off their uniforms, RAN like cowardly dogs and were massacred for their efforts. If these people had ANY honor they would have stood and fought, met the enemy like MEN, they may have died in combat but they would have died with honor.

Apparently honor is not a part of the Iraqi military.

Muslims can’t be relied upon in ANY manner. They aren’t trustworthy, they lie to non-Muslims as a matter of the way they have lived for 1,400 years and they will stab us in the back at their first opportunity.

Those are the facts regarding Islam and its practitioners and it’s apparently something that the Obama regime, and RINO assclown Sen. Lindsey Graham has NO clue of.

“Why did we deal with Stalin? Because he was not as bad as Hitler,” he said. “The Iranians can provide some assets to make sure Baghdad doesn’t fall. We need to coordinate with the Iranians.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, the above fully illustrates exactly how the Soviet Union came to be the tremendous world power they were through most of the 20th Century.

Using the excuse that one enemy isn’t as bad as the other is the lamest and most child-like statements I can imagine. Both were vile enemies to this nation and after the defeat of NAZI Germany a brilliant, albeit eccentric military leader, Gen. George Patton knew, and loudly voiced his opinions on Soviet Russia and how they were incredibly weak at the end of WWII and that the United States needed to strike then and there, thus eliminating a future need to engage in war with them.

Fast forward to present day America and read the words spoken by Sen. Lindsey Graham and consider this; can Iran be trusted? Can we rely on Iran to be an ally? Can we expect Iran to stand with us in future wars in that region of the world?

No, we can’t, and rest assured, there will be future wars in the Mid-East and Asia, and Iran will turn on the United States.
